- ATTACH
This is a manual section command. Pass an 'ATTACH' command for each
device in the device database to the Diagnostic Supervisor.
This program does not require devices to be attached prior to running.
For more information, examine ATTACH from the Supervisor help facility.
Format:
ATTACH
- CHANGE
This is a manual section command. The specified field(s) for
the given device are given the values indicated. If the device
is not specified, it will prompt for a device name. If the
field is not specified, then the operator is prompted for the
field to change. If the value is not specified, then the
operator is prompted for it. For each entry, the first time the
operator is prompted for that entry, the possible responses are
listed. For the device prompt, it will list the names of all
known devices. For the field prompt, all of the valid field
names are listed. For the value prompt, the format and limits
will be listed. The fields must be specified in the order they
appear in the ATTACH command. All fields for a device are
checked when any of them are changed. If any are incorrect or
invalid, the operator will be prompted for the correct values.
Fields common to all devices are TYPE, LINK, and GENERIC. If a
space or tab following by a carriage return is entered for any
prompt, EVSBA will return to the command mode and make no
changes.
Format:
CHANGE [device [field[value],...]]
- DEFAULT
This section of the program will perform the sizing operation
and pass all the ATTACHes to the supervisor. The message 'EVSBA
working' is printed to show the program is running if DZ11's are
present. A possible sequence of instructions for running this
section follows:
Format:
LOAD EVSBA.EXE
START
- DEVICE
Examine DEVICE in the supervisor help facility for information
on supported devices. Information can be obtained by using the
following command:
DS> HELP DEVICE type
This command is given from the "DS>" prompt level and accesses
your current Diagnostic Supervisor help file. For "type" enter
the device name you need information on.
- EVENT
No event flags are used. See the QUICK section for more
information.
- EXIT
This is a manual section command. Control is returned to the
Diagnostic Supervisor. If any information in the file has
changed since the last time an ATTACH or WRITE command was
issued the operator will be prompted to verify this command.
Format:
EXIT
- HELP
This is a manual section command. This program creates ATTACH
commands for all devices in the system.
(ATTACH,CHANGE,EXIT,HELP,LIST,READ,SIZE,WRITE) - These commands
control the sizer in manual and selftest mode.
To obtain further information type HELP followed by a topic.
For example;
HELP MANUAL
- LIST
This is a manual section command and is only valid after a SIze
or a REad command is issued. Type out all information about
devices in current data buffer. Based on generic device names,
devices are listed if the device string specified has at least a
partial match with device names in the data buffer. If no name
is specified, the entire file is listed.
Format:
LIST [device]
- MANUAL
This section of the program is a conversational mode and allows
the operator to enter various commands explained in this
program's help file. A possible command sequence for entering
this section follows.
Format:
LOAD EVSBA.EXE
START /SECTION:MANUAL
- QUICK
This program uses the 'QUICK' flag to determine if a check
should be made for terminals on the DZ11's. This flag is a
Supervisor flag and must be set or clear under the Supervisor by
use of the appropriate command. If the flag is set no check is
made for DZ11 terminals. This is useful if no terminals are
present and a rapid configuration is needed. Since the sizing
proceed very quickly with the quick flag set, no EVSBA working
message is printed.
- READ
This is a manual section command. This command reads the
specified file from the load device and retains the information
in the data buffer. If the file is not specified, the file used
is "CONFIG.COM". If the file name is specified, the default for
file type will be ".COM". If a file was previously in the data
buffer it will be overwritten.
Format:
READ [filespec]
- SECTION
This program has three sections or modes or operation.

START /SECTION:MANUAL
- ATTACH
This is a manual section command and is only valid after a
SIze or a REad command is issued. For each device in the
device data buffer it will pass the information to the
Diagnostic Supervisor. All attach lines, that have the
same link and generic field value as some device that is
currently known to the supervisor, will be replaced
entirely. All other attach lines are added.
This program does not require devices to be attached prior
to running. For more information, examine ATTACH from the
Supervisor help facility.

for it. For each entry, the first time the operator is
prompted for that entry, the possible responses are listed.
For the device prompt, it will list the names of all known
devices. For the field prompt, all of the valid field
names are listed. For the value prompt, the format and

order they appear in the ATTACH command. Only the field(s)
to be changed need appear in the command. All fields for a
device are checked when any of them are changed. If any
are incorrect or invalid, the operator will be prompted for
the correct values. Fields common to all devices are TYPE,
