EVDHA, a REPAIR level (Level 3) diagnostic, contains a series
of tests which will establish the functionality of the KMC11-B
(M8206). The program provides error messages which identify
data and I/O errors. The program runs with the Diagnostic Supervisor
from the console terminal.
- DEVICE
EVDHA tests the KMC11-B option. The KMC11-B (Module M8206) is a UNIBUS
compatible general purpose microprocessor with writeable control
storage. It is used primarily to reduce the input/output load on
the CPU in a VAX system; hence, the KMC11-B functions more
like a data handler than a data processor.
The functions performed by the KMC11-B are determined by the
microprogram contained in its instruction memory. The architecture
of the KMC11-B does not allow it to modify its own instruction
area.
The KMC11-B is an enhanced version of the DMC11 with writeable
control storage in place of the ROMs. The KMC11-B has increased
main memory and provisions for performing consecutive NPRs
without relinguishing UNIBUS mastership.

- DATA-PATTERNS
Complete descriptions of the many test patterns used are given in
the program document for EVDHA.
- SECTIONS
DEFAULT section is run when "START" is typed. It runs all 20 tests
in the diagnostic.
- QUICK
The QUICK feature is not implemented in this diagnostic. The
diagnostic execution time is about 5 minutes for an error
free pass on one unit.
- SUMMARY
The SUMMARY section is not implemented by this diagnostic.
- ERRORS
ERRORS ARE REPORTED BY THE PROGRAM AS THEY OCCUR (IF NOT
INHIBITED). THE REPORT CONFORMS TO THE DIAGNOSTIC SUPERVISOR
ERROR REPORT FORMAT, AND CONSISTS OF A DESCRIPTION OF THE
ERROR, THE TEST NUMBER, SUBTEST NUMBER, DEVICE ADDRESS,
AND BASIC AND EXTENDED ERROR INFORMATION.
