- HELP
EVDFI is a level 3, repair level diagnostic for the DF11W option.
This diagnostic requires you to make certain adjustments to the
LPC01 see the section on REQUIREMENTS.
- DEVICE
EVDFI supports the DF11W option. The DF11W option consists of
an M5935 module connected to DR11W. Although this diagnostic
is primarily concerned with the M5935 module, it is the DR11W
option that is attached to the UBA.
- DR11W
Device: DR11W
Link: DW0
recommended generic: XAa
Additional information:
CSR address: 772410 BASE ADDRESS (for first DF11W)
Vector address: 124 (for first DF11W)
BR level: 5
NOTE: THE ADDRESS USED HERE ARE FOR EXAMPLE ONLY. THE ADDRESS RANK OF
THE DF11W IS 19, THE VECTOR RANK IS 41.
- ATTACH
ATT DW780 SBI DW0 3 4 ; attaches UBA TO 11/780
OR
ATT DW750 CMI DW0 ; attaches UBA to 11/750
ATT DR11W DW0 XAa 772410 124 5 ; attaches DF11W
SELECT XAa ; selects device to be run.
NOTE: THE ADDRESS USED HERE ARE FOR EXAMPLE ONLY. THE ADDRESS RANK OF
THE DF11W IS 19, THE VECTOR RANK IS 41.
- DATA-PATTERNS
The data patterns that you should see in the LPC01 lights are:
001 002 004 010 020 040 100 200 (rotating ones)
252 125 (alternate ones)
376 375 373 367 357 337 277 177 (rotating zero)
377 000 (all ones, all zeros)
- SECTIONS
There are two sections in EVDFI.
The DEFAULT section is ran anytime you specify "start <cr>". It exer-
cises the DF11W in data mode. It tests all conditions except OFFLINE.
The MANUAL section is ran when you specify "START/SECTION:MANUAL <CR>".
Before running this section, you must place the LPC01 ONLINE/OFFLINE
switch in the OFFLINE postion. This section tests the DF11W's capabil-
ity to detect the offline condition.
- EVENT-FLAGS
Event flags are not used by this diagnostic.
- QUICK
The QUICK feature is not implemented in this diagnostic. The diagnostic
execution time is less then one minute for an error free pass.
- SUMMARY
The SUMMARY section is not implemented by this diagnostic.
- ERRORS
There are two types of errors that can be detected by this diagnostic:
data-errors, and M5935 hard-errors (control errors).
Data-errors can only be detected by the user who visually compares the
data in the LPC01 lights with the expected data.
Hard-errors occur when the DF11W does not respond to the diagnostic as
the diagnostic expects it to.
For specific error messages, see the individual type error.
- DATA-ERRORS
Data errors do not have any typeout. It is up to the user of this
diagnostic to determine if there are any data errors by visually
compareing the data lights of the LPC01 with the known outputted
data.
- HARD-ERRORS
Hard errors are detected by the diagnostic and are reported in the
following message:
********** ZZ-EVDFI DF11W level two diagnostic - 1.0 *******
PASS # TEST # SUBTEST # ERROR ## DD-MMM-YY HH:MM:SS:TT
XXXX ERROR WHILE TESTING UUT: ERROR MESSAGE
DFCSR: YYYYYY (O)
DFEIR: XXXXXX (O)
DFCSR BITS: (BITS THAT WERE SET)
- ERROR-SET-IN-DF11W
The error bit, bit15 was set in the CSR. All bits that were
set will be typed out in the "DFCSR BITS" section of
the error typeout. The most common bit, ATTN (or offline),
should point you to checking the cableing and also the
ONLINE/OFFLINE switch of the LPC01 to be certain that it
is in the ONLINE position.
- READY-FAILED-TO-SET
This condition occurrs when the DF11W is unable to complete
the block transferr of all the data specified. You should
verify the the M5935 generates a STROBE signal and then
recieves and END CYCLE.
- STAT-A,B,-AND/OR-C-NOT-CLEAR
One of the status bits A,B,and/or C were fould set. All are
wired clear on the M5935 module.
- REQUIRMENTS
The DR11W diagnostic should run error-free, as well as for the system
operating with no errors.
The LPC01 must be set up as specified by LPC01-SETUP.
- LPC01-SETUP
You must set up the LPC01 in the following manner prior to starting
this diagnostic:
a) Power the LPC01 OFF.
b) remove any modules in slots A12-A16,B11-B16 (if there are
modules in these slots-will depend of options-remember
you must reinstall these modules after running this test!)
c) temporarily connect pin B7J1 to B8H1 (STROBE to REQ L).
d) remove M523 in B7 and place all switches OFF except for
Switch 2-2 REMEMBER, your going to have to restore the
original position of these switches, so write it down.
e) reinstall M523 in B7 and power LPC01 ON.
You may now run the diagnostic. After running the diagnostics, you
must restore the LPC01 to its orignal state.
