- HELP
EVCKD is the fourth of six Repair Level Diagnostics for the
CIBCI (BI to CI adapter). It is comprised of twenty-one tests.
Tests 1 to 8 and 14 to 21 run in the default mode. Tests 9 and 10
pertain to CRD and RDS tests for the CBA test bed which was used
in the early development work.
Test 11 pertains to the RDS test for VAX 8800 and Tests 12 and 13
pertain to CRD and RDS for VAX 8200/8300.
To run EVCKD, boot in the VAX 8200/8300, 8800
compatible Diagnostic Supervisor. (For 8200/8300 EBSAA and
for 8800 EZSAA)
Each time information is desired on keywords
it is necessary to type HELP EVCKD 'keyword'.

- SECTIONS
Sections names have been generated for tests that test
common hardware and/or similar functions. The user can run
any individual section by typing START/SECTION:SECTION NAME
The following sections are available in EVCKD:
EXTBUS - External Bus Tests (BI)
PBUFFER - Packet Buffer Tests
CBA - CRD and RDS tests pertaining to the CBA test bed.
(Tests 9 and 10) for CBA test bed.
NAUTILUS - RDS test pertaining to VAX 8800
(Test 11)
SCORPIO - CRD and RDS tests pertaining to VAX 8200/8300
(Tests 12 and 13)
- EVENT_FLAGS
- 1
If event flag 1 is set then the message stating that a test
will not be performed because of a CPU incompatability
will not appear. This affects tests 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13.
- 6
If event flag 6 is set then can loop on microcode.
See micro_looping for more.
- MICRO_LOOPING
Most of the tests employing the use of custom microcode
routines have the ability to loop on the microcode by
setting Event Flag #6, prior to starting the desired test.
This action sets a ULOOP bit in a Local Store Location
causing the test to execute a Diagnostic Supervisor abort
(to stop the macrocode), but allow the CI750 microcode to
loop on the desired test. It is necessary to clear Event
Flag #6 before proceeding to run any other test in the
normal procedure. Note that ulooping is not applicable
to all tests, and could cause misleading results. Check
the test header and test ucode for additional information.
To set Event Flag 6, type 'SET EVENT 6'.
To clear Event Flag 6, type 'CLEAR EVENT 6'.
Type 'HELP EVCKD MICRO_LOOPING' for more information.
- QUICK
The QUICK feature is not implemented in this diagnostic.
The diagnostic execution time for EVCKD is 1 min 5 secs for
VAX 8800, 2 mins 7 secs for VAX 8200/8300.
- SUMMARY
The Summary report gives an error count by test number. No report is
generated if there were no errors.
