- HELP
ESCGB is the second of four Repair Level Diagnostics for the
CI780. It is comprised of thirty-two tests. Tests 1-31 run
in the default section, while test 32 is a manual intervention
test. For information on the manual intervention section,
type 'HELP ESCGB MANUAL'. To run ESCGB, boot in the Diagnostic
Supervisor, load ESCGB.EXE, and attach as follows:
'ATTACH CI780 SBI PAA0 14 4 0',
where 14 is the TR number,
4 is the BR level, and
0 is the Node number.
For information on attaching, type 'HELP ESCGB ATTACH'.
Each time information is desired on the following keywords
it is necessary to type HELP ESCGB 'keyword'.
- ATTACH
ATTACH CI780 SBI PAA0 14 4 0 ; attaches CI780 to 11/780
SELECT PAA0 ; selects device to be run
Device: CI780
Link: SBI
Recommended generic: PAa0
Additional information:
TR Number: [decimal 1-15] determined by BP jumpers
BR Level: [4-7] determined by BP jumpers
Node Number: [decimal 0-255] switch select on Link Bd
Note that the node number set on the Link Bd should agree with
the node number used in the Attach Command.
- SECTIONS
Sections names have been generated for tests that test
common hardware and/or similar functions. The user can run
any individual section by typing START/SECTION:SECTION NAME
The following sections are available in ESCGB:
SEQUENCER - 2911 Sequencer Tests
ALU - 2901 ALU Tests
BRANCH - Microcode Branch Tests
MANUAL - Manual Intervention Test
- WCS
Provisions exist in the program to allow testing of CS Ram
size of 2k or 3k. The program default condition is for 2k
of CS Ram. If 3k of CS Ram exits the user should Set Event
Flag #5 before starting the program. This action will load
new values into the initialization code to test the following
tests for 3K of CS ram:
Control Store - Read/Write Ram Test (ESCGA)
Control Store - Dual Address Test (ESCGA)
2911 Sequencer UPC + 1 Test (ESCGB)
To set Event Flag 5, type 'SET EVENT 5'.
To clear Event Flag 5, type 'CLEAR EVENT 5'.
- MICRO_LOOPING
Most of the tests employing the use of custom microcode
routines have the ability to loop on the microcode by
setting Event Flag #6, prior to starting the desired test.
This action sets a ULOOP bit in a Local Store Location
causing the test to execute a Diagnostic Supervisor abort
(to stop the macrocode), but allow the CI780 microcode to
loop on the desired test. It is necessary to clear Event
Flag #6 before proceeding to run any other test in the
normal procedure. Note that ulooping is not applicable
to all tests, and could cause misleading results. Check
the test header and test ucode for additional information.
To set Event Flag 6, type 'SET EVENT 6'.
To clear Event Flag 6, type 'CLEAR EVENT 6'.
- EVENT_FLAGS
EVENT FLAG 5 is used to change the WCS tests for 3K.
To set Event Flag 5, type 'SET EVENT 5'.
To clear Event Flag 5, type 'CLEAR EVENT 5'.
Type 'HELP ESCGB WCS' for more information.
EVENT FLAG 6 is used for micro-looping.
To set Event Flag 6, type 'SET EVENT 6'.
To clear Event Flag 6, type 'CLEAR EVENT 6'.
Type 'HELP ESCGB MICRO_LOOPING' for more information.
- MANUAL
Test #32 (Boot Timer Test) runs only in the manual
intervention section. To run this test type 'ST/SEC:MANUAL'.
The user is prompted to install four backplane jumpers,
W9,W10,W12,W13, and to type GO<CR>. The execution time
of this test is between 50-65 seconds. At the end of the
test the user is again prompted to remove the four
backplane jumpers.
- QUICK
The QUICK feature is not implemented in this diagnostic.
The diagnostic execution time for ESCGB is 52 seconds,
(excluding the Manual Invervention Test).
- SUMMARY
No SUMMARY report is issued by this program.
