IC records, check with the other players. Some characters have
kept diaries. Some organizations also have records, for example
the Abbey Chronicles. Some of the events listed here may be
well known in the IC world. Please use some common sense in determining
if your character should know about something. Check with the
player in question if you are uncertain. (Assuming they are
still around.) Entries have been edited by Taisch. All dates are
RL, not MUSH time.

- Baron Belial foils attempted assassination. Skull Thone disturbed,
wreaks havoc on the Lake of Fire.

- Barrier arises between Hell and Earth.

- The Black Angel prophesies, quoting from Revelation, proclaims
misery, despair.
- 6-February-1999
- Illness strikes, victims lynched. Plague grows more serious
as the days pass. The Healing Place offers free treatment for humans,
but Dyno's attempts seem futile against this plague.

- Small group of angels and humans, led by Raguel, rediscover Eden, now
a sanctuary on Earth for the angels.

- The Joint Erosion closes until further notice.
- 17-February-1999
- Khelkhet, once the Lady of the Citadel and Hell, reappears and claims
the Spawning Tunnels in Hell as her Barony. Hell's Magi Cho'Gall threatens
to ward Khelkhet and the Spawn from Hell. Khelkhet requests an audience
with the Lords and Ladies of Hell. A day later, the spawn and Khelkhet vanish.
- 18-February-1999
- Fog rises out of the Chasm, spreads through the city, leaves behind
postings speaking of the night arriving, liberty, and an invitation to
St. Jude's Square. Two hooded messangers, one human, one demon, arrive
from Hell.
- 20-February-1999
- The 83rd Legion of Hell appears once more on the streets of the city,
claiming to protect the tradition of demonic rule against the supposed
``liberation'' of Earth from Hell.
- 21-February-1999
- Larcian the Cruel leads a demonic army (after the fashion of the
Roman legions) into the Lake of Fire and the Tunnels of Pandemonium,
overthrows and abolishes the current government of Hell. Asmodeus offers
his Wastelands as a haven for the refugees.
On earth, the Citadel guards force a fiery ``Cleansing'' upon a
plague-stricken populace. Promised excitement at St. Jude's Square turns
out to be a non-event.
- 22-February-1999
- The Bank of Babylon is locked down. Lysidious, Lord of Hell,
publicly announces the continued vitality of the Hierarchy, denounces
Larcian. Meanwhile, Larcian, in Hell, proclaims the Hierarchy dissolved.
- 23-February-1999
- The plague continues to worsen. A plague-infested cloud is seen to
rise into the sky and spread towards the mountains to the southwest,
where it stays, repelled by some mystical barrier.

- Sammael seeks sanctuary at the abbey from the Hashmallim Raguel.
- 26-February-1999
- Larcian proclaims Hell a republic, announces elections for the
representatives of the Lake of Fire, the Tunnels of Pandemonium, the
Realm of Ice, and Earth. Voting circles set up.
Candidates include Screwtape, Anzu, Calisto, and possibly Starsmore.
Lysidious curses the Lake of Fire, turning it cold, dark, and haunted
with visions. On earth, the Bank reopens.
- 28-February-1999
- General Raask of the 83rd Legion blocks access to the (magically
warded) voting circle on Earth. Bank guards work alongside the 83rd.
From Hell, Lysidious again affirms the authority of the Hierarchy.
Candidate Calisto is declared ``Hunted'' and ``Unchosen'' as an example
to the others.
An apparition of Duke Baphomet appears in the Realm of Ice,
proclaims Hell unconquered, and ever so, for Hell by its nature
is a ``unity of discord.''
On Earth, polls show that 33% of the humans in the city believe the
Republic to be a hoax, 48% believe there has been a real change,
the rest don't know or don't care.

- Mystery monk Brude the Blessed summons Lord Sethnahkt, persuades
him to allow Brude to attempt destruction of the voting circle on earth.
Brude successfully dispels the circle a week later, using his powers
to shape reality.
Propaganda war continues between Lysidious and Larcian.
- 11-March-1999
- Belial, with the aid of Mehitabel, undamns
himself, becomes Unchosen.
A Cherub descends in a beam of heavenly light to earth, recites passage
from Zechariah 14, then Daniel 9. In interchange with the prophets
of St. Jude's Square, the angel reminds all that this world, too,
will end, and exhorts all to repent.
- 12-March-1999
- Mehitabel's attempt to end the Plague by binding the soul of the plague
into herself fails. Plague cloud hovers over Hell's Wastelands.
Plague continues to worsen, on earth and in hell.
- 13-March-1999
- Mehitabel again battles the plague, this time in concert with
Baphomet and Althaliel/Jessica Sunstar. They fail.
On earth, the Bank seeks information about ``Seklas.''
The Citadel Academy opens. The plague continues to spread, with spore
colonies and a black fungus that grows on buildings.

- Mehitabel once again battles the plague, and this time she succeeds.
She, Lysidious, and Baphomet call upon the powers of Curse and Truth to
banish the Plague and the Fae who brought it. All symptoms of the
Plague fade away.
- 18-March-1999
- Strife announces posting of the new Slave Codes, reopening of the
slave market, unthwarted by bombs and saboteurs.
- 19-March-1999
- Wormwood's Abbess Laura appoints Talisein as the Prior and Ecclesiastic of
Defense.
- 20-March-1999
- Large meteor strikes the southern wall of the city, but the damage
is quickly repaired.
- 21-March-1999
- Tia Maria sets fire to her cafe.
- 5-April-1999
- Market Square: Gabriel, self-styled 'Prince of Technology', devours
passersby, accompanied by Fehu, Lady of the Citadel. Trouble erupts when
he targets one Madeleine Aimes, Herald of Mehitabel Reynolds. She
summons the Infernal Inquisitor, Lord Sethnahkt, to adjudicate.
Fehu defies the Inquisitor! Gabriel banishes Sethnahkt to Hell, and Madeleine
follows him.
- 10-April-1999
- Conflict escalates between the 83rd and the Citadel. Citadel Guard
Sephiroth challenges Othello of the IBI to a duel. Othello defeats him,
proclaims supremacy of the 83rd over Citadel and Underground alike.
- 15-April-1999
- Madeleine, Herald of Mehitabel, Conjures up a pile of rocks to
bury a pair of 'Hell's Angels', two of a group harassing Market Square.
Their leader is seen to be a woman with broken stubs on her back.
Shortly thereafter, Madeleine summons Asmodeus, Commander of Hell,
to deal with a boastful rapist. The man flees. Asmodeus leaves after
delivering a warning for the man and ripping the Slave Master apart.
- 20-April-1999
- Cecil, the White Knight, has been seen again, perhaps in response
to the emergence of the 83rd.
- 25-April-1999
- Sammael and Lilith escape from the Abbey.
- 5-May-1999
- Three butchered bodies of novices found on the steps of the Church
of Satanic Transcendance at Cathedral Rd. Prime suspect: Zetta.
Madeleine and Kieanna, Citadel officer, investigate.
- 15-May-1999
- Captain Asmodeus gathers an army in the wastelands, declares war
on Larcian. Larcian addresses his troops, his prisoners, proclaiming the
Republic's readiness to face Asmodeus.
- 17-May-1999
- Civilians ordered off the plains. Rumors of large-scale troop movements
and training missions, near the 83rd military base outside the city.
- 19-May-1999
- Earth: A clash between I.B.I. (Infernal Bureau of Investigation) and
a mysterious man in black near the Babbling Rat triggers a riot in the
Unchosen Sector.
Hell: The demon magi Cho'Gall returns, is said to make an alliance with
Larcian.
- 1-June-1999
- Lysidious, Lord of Hell, announces his resignation. Names Asmodeus
as his successor, as a military rather than a political leader. Bequeathes
the Bank of Babylon to him. Charges him to destroy Larcian. Declares
Cho'Gall to be Hunted.
- 2-June-1999
- A small band of Asmodeus's warriors raid the Lake of Fire, the core
of Larcian's powerbase, but are captured and soul-smelted.
- 8-June-1999
- The Hierarchy's attack begins in earnest: Starsmore leads the elite
6th Guards of Hell to secure the portal between the wastelands and
the Lake of Fire, defended by Larcian's XXVII Legatia. A flank attack
by a small force of Dark Dwellers tipped the balance, turning it into
a rout. The decimated survivors of Larcian's XXVII regrouped in the Lake
of Fire. Larcian dispatches 50,000, nearly his whole army, to repulse the
invasion.
- 14-June-1999
- Pirate broadcast from Hell: Asmodeus names Fehu, Baphomet, and Gabriel
as traitors to the Hierarchy of Hell. Says Mehitabel found them out, was
captured by Gabriel and tortured in his domain, New Sheol. Though his
oaths forbid him to attack Gabriel's fortress, he encourages others to
do it.
Sorcerous broadcast: An image of Baphomet appears in the sky over
hell and earth, declaring Asmodeus's words false.
- 16-June-1999
- Larcian's forces, led by Lieutenant Phobos, overwhelm the 6th Guards.
Mammoth Siege Beasts are instrumental in breaking the monarchist forces.
Meanwhile, a guerilla-style strike by the 27th Legion of Hell retakes the
Tunnels of Pandemonium for the Hierarchy, destroying the local commander,
Deimos. The Hierarchy's 13th Legion of Hell, with its heavy armor and siege
engines, disappears from the encampment in the Wastelands.
- 17-June-1999
- 45,000 demons of Larcian's Republican Guard attack the encampment
in the Wastelands, only to find it empty: a trap. Fighting breaks out,
with the Hierarchy's forces using sandstorms, their familiarity with
the Wastelands against the Republicans.
- 18-June-1999
- Earth: St.Brude rallies the Blessed, encourages them to strike at the
Citadel.
Hell: Mehitabel Reynolds, leader the ISL, escapes from Gabriel with the help
of Duke Baphomet. She confirms news of a conspiracy by the 'Renegade Lords',
including Gabriel and Fehu, and a dark entity who may be Belial returned
from his mysterious banishment, aimed against the Hierarchy.
- 19-June-1999
- A small girl wanders through the city offering the help of her master,
an Outsider, to the homeless and downtrodden, and a 'gift' to those at
the Abbey, to be delivered personally.
- 23-June-1999
- Riot and attack on the Bank of Babylon (still closed), guard Marcus
Switchnick killed, Robert Whitehaven wanted by the Citadel/Bank.
- 24-June-1999
- Malystryx attempts to set a ward of protection around the Abbey, fails.
- 25-June-1999
- Citadel News Conference: Fehu publicly questions Asmodeus's position,
calls him a liar and False Prophet, declares Baphomet rightful heir to the
Skull Throne. She challenges Mehitabel's veracity, blames Asmodeus for the
war in Hell, closes the Cathedral and places it under direct Citadel rule,
sets up aid stations at St. Jude's Square, cuts off power to KHEL studios.
Fehu said to be in Hell pursuing a diplomatic resolution to the war.
- 30-June-1999
- Fighting continues in the Wastelands of Hell. Commander Nialus and his
Hidden warriors, the human mystic Claribel, Whispering Wind sect assassins,
and Commander Starsmore combine to force Phobos to withdraw.
About 20,000 of Larcian's army survive to hold the Lake of Fire.
- 5-July-1999
- Rumors spread that Elijah himself will appear to a gathering in the City.
The prophets in St. Jude's Square seem agitated, predicting doom.
- 10-July-1999
- The Hell-Wolf known only as Gray Wolf turns on his overseer and escapes,
stealing his master's crown. An infernal wolf, crowned and escorted by
two others of his kind, is later seen by Mehitabel, the Soul-Mage, at the
Lake of Fire.
- 11-July-1999
- Special broadcast from the Bank: Lysidious keeps the Bank closed, but
replenishes the ATMs. He asserts his continued authority over the Bank.
Reminds Fehu that it was he who gave her her title.
- 12-July-1999
- Kienna posts throughout Babylong recruiting for a new group to help
the city. Elsewhere, an unmarked truck loses a crate that is revealed
to contain a clutch of dull metal spheres...
- 21-July-1999
- Market Square: a demonstration by Hierarchy supporters, including
100 soldiers of the 83rd, a squad of I.B.I. agents led by Othello,
civilian supporters of the ISL led by Madeleine Aimes, and Lord Sethnahkt
and the Lightbringer Claribel (both summoned for the occasion), turns bloody
when a gang of 'punk' agitators crashes the party. Rumor says: 'Grigori'.
Wormwood Abbey: someone is seen digging up an unmarked grave.
- 22-July-1999
- Hell: the Lake of Fire: silence and darkness erupts into flame, as the
long enchantment laid on it by Lysidious, former Lord of Hell, is lifted.
Another blaze descends upon Larcian's encampment. His legions are consumed.
Larcian's fortress is revealed. The 13th Legion of Hell shatters it with
fire. Larcian himself survives the carnage.
Earth: A brawl breaks out at the Babbling Rat between Vincent and
Commander Jakal of the 83rd Legion. Vincent blows Jakal back to hell
with his shotgun.
Printed on papers dropped from the sky all over the city: Othello
calls for revolt against Fehu, promises guns, ammunition, and a constitution
for all. Says support of the Hierarchy will bring this about.
- 26-July-1999
- Market Square: 'Beer Bash' attracts crowd of thousands on a searing hot
day. Beer, beef, and marijuana conjured in mass quantities. Vincent, Dex,
and Dorion seem to be the hosts. Prior Talisein expresses disapproval.
Rumor: party paid for by unknown oldster with long gray beard, seen negotiating
with a Citadel accountant.
- 21-August-1999
- Earth: The 83rd Legion of Hell seen marching towards the city.
- 23-August-1999
- Hell: War between Larcian's Republic and the Hierarchy ends with a final
assault by Asmodeus. Asmodeus rules a devastated realm under martial law.
Victory bought by the Asmodeus' 'Whispering Winds' legion, under Commander
Nialus, the 83rd Legion, under Lucius, Sethnahkt and his personal band of
hell-wolves, and the magi Cho'Gall and Mehitabel. Larcian's soul smelted
by Cho'Gall.
- 24-August-1999
- Earth: Someone leaves a message for Fehu, pinned to the forehead of a
corpse.
Hell: Baphomet projects vision, declaring himself the Lord of Hell.
- 26-August-1999
- Hell: A Lost Soul escapes from the Lake of Fire, a previously unknown
occurance. Activity increases in and around the Lake.
- 26-August-1999
- Blistering hot sandstorm scourges the northern (primarily Unchosen)
sector of the city.
- 1-September-1999
- Market Square firebombed by a mysterious flying monkey (!).
- 23-September-1999
- Starsmore, former Exile, then commander of the 6th Guard of Hell,
retakes command of the Citadel, with the support of Lord Asmodeus.
Little resistance is offered.
- 26-September-1999
- Earth: for one brief moment, the sun is seen above the horizon,
the gates of Heaven open, a trumpet call is heard, and a perfumed wind
sweeps Babylon.
- 2-October-1999
- Earth: far above in the sky, a host of angels is glimpsed performing
intricate maneuvers amidst fire and wind, concluding with a pillar of
fire touching earth before dissipating. Meanwhile, the Bank seeks new
workers, hinting at a re-opening soon. Elsewhere in the city, a squad
of the 83rd, led by Lucius, pursues a white-haired woman and a small girl
into the Unchosen sector, where a mysterious cowboy disables Lucius
in a gunfight.
- 11-October-1999
- Market Square: Former Citadel Lord Fehu pushes a naked woman into the
fountain, where she disappears. Fehu then attacked by a small child.
The same pair chased by the 83rd in the earlier incident? Madeleine,
Mehitabel's Herald, intervenes between Fehu's dreaded Metal Arm and the child.
Fehu leaves. Madeleine takes custody of the child.
- 23-October-1999
- Mehitabel Reynolds, the Soul-Mage, steps down as the leader of the ISL,
names Claribel Vidriani, the Lightbringer, as her successor.
- 24-October-1999
- Earth: strong winds, screaming banshees, a rain of toads.
Later: A crack of golden radiance streaks from across the plains over the city.
The old abandoned Orthodox cathedral on Prophet's way glows. Singing and music
is heard. A Voice from above: "It is time, come." A single soul is seen
to ascend from the city. A note on the Abbey door says that Leviticus
has been called home to resume his role as the Patron of Wanderers and
Vagabonds, the Comfort to the Oppressed.

- Calisto officially proclaims her new ownership of the Cathedral.
- 30-October-1999
- Market Square: Belial's stone statue of the Morning Star crumbles into
a pile of rocks. Ancanus, the Priest of Satan, is seen observing the statue
shortly before its collapse.
- 31-October-1999
- Market Square: A holy paladin arrives, deposits a mystical sword embedded
in a stone. Later: Lord Starsmore arrives, calls for a conjuror. At his orders,
Madeleine surrounds the object on all sides with a barrier of solid concrete.
A squad of Citadel Guards is assigned to guard it.
- 2-November-1999
- Market Square: Squabble over the sword in the stone. Cecil and Leviticus
arrive, confront the Guards stationed around the stone, Starsmore (remotely),
the Guards withdraw, Leviticus dissolves the concrete barrier. Once the two
Blessed leave, Starsmore and Claribel appear. At his orders, Claribel
creates a deadly microwave barrier of heated light particles around the stone.
The angel Lindrael emerges from the fountain, having witnessed all, and
attackes Claribel, but is trapped in a sphere of energy and thrown into the
Chasm to Hell. Another of the Blessed, Laura, hidden among the crowd,
calls down St.Cecil and St.Brude with her prayers.
Cecil and Brude demand the identity of Lindrael's assailant. The ground
shatters, revealing the message "ANTI-CHRIST". They divine through their
Sight that Ancanus, Priest of Satan, is responsible. Heated words follow.
Bystanders flee, while violence erupts between Blessed and Damned.
Brude ends up in Hell, Cecil retreats to Heaven. Ancanus hurls Laura
into a cyclone. Cecil re-appears, but is killed.
Market Square is left in ruins. The unchosen Human Saif'Din seen administering
to the wounded. Later, Abbess Laura Jeffries returned disheveled but unharmed
to the Abbey.
- 3-November-1999
- Commerce continues, despite the recent dramatic events:
Wade distributes flyers: "Tattoo Artist","Ship Building","Sailor","Light Cook"
Kuriko announces new management of the Cathedral, posts "help wanted" signs.
Dora announces grand reopening of the Abyss.
- 6-November-1999
- A Hashmallim calls for a council to be held at the Forbidden City of Eden
to discuss the sword in the stone.
- 13-November-1999
- Duke Baphomet succumbs to a strange illness, dies beyond hope of
regeneration.
- 15-November-1999
- Hell: Thousands gather for the funeral of Baphomet at the shores of the
Lake of Fire.
- 18-November-1999
- Cho'Gall formally appoints Kuriko to restore the Cathedral to glory.
- 21-November-1999
- Hell: Cho'Gall seen at the Lake of Fire, assuming the position of a tree.
A few days later, he has transformed into a petrified tree.
- 25-November-1999
- Plague of locusts continues over the city.
- 27-November-1999
- A quarrel erupts between the Ischim, Ishmael, and the Ophanim, Kesef
(a.k.a the Folksinger) at the bookstore at the Eden Trainstation. The
Seraph Jophiel intervenes and settles the dispute.
Hell: Tremors in hell. The Lake of Fire goes dark for a moment, then re-ignites
hotter and higher than before. The source of the disturbances is traced to
one of the islands in the Lake. Lucius teleports to the island, but is thrown
back with great force. Sethnahkt and Claribel fly to the island, staying for
some time before teleporting away.
- 28-November-1999
- Hell: vines grow on the island in the Lake of Fire, one stalk rising above
the others towards the void above.
- 29-November-1999
- The Blessed humans of Wormwood Abbey are visited by strange dreams:
"Isarael, the dead angel, lives again."
Hell: rumor: the angel that assassinated Baphomet is loose in Hell.
- 7-December-1999
- Hell: more sightings of the elusive angel, a 4-winged phantom.
- 8-December-1999
- Dr. Laura Kay Jeffries steps down as Abbess at Wormwood, due to continuing
health problems. She continues on as a healer. No successor named.
Meanwhile, the angel Klefkn has not been seen in months.
- 14-December-1999
- Rumors: a child's laughter is heard from the Abbey graveyard, where an
angelic figure is spotted singing and dancing in the middle of the night.
Three angels, the healer Rhamiel and warriors Skandalon and Arch arrive
at the Abbey.
- 18-December-1999
- Rumors: Something escapes from a guarded cell in Hell. A monk at Wormwood
Abbey shows stigmata, whispers, "He is coming...". Geysers erupt in the
plains outside the city, spewing glowing yellow and orange gases.
- 21-December-1999
- First issue of the KHEL Times: top story: Shoppers attacked by unknown
man at the Slave Market.
In the Abbey, an old wooden chalice appears from out of nowhere in the rock
garden.
- 22-December-1999
- Two unidentified individuals materialize in the chapel at Wormwood Abbey.
One slaughters the brothers and sisters with a scythe, while the other
watches. Both vanish when an angel arrives on the scene.
The Folksinger vows: Those responsible will pay.
- 25-December-1999
- Hell: a dark cherubic figure arises from the Lake of Fire, similar to
Baphomet's own true form before Lucifer's Fall, perches on Baphomet's
monument, mocking the mourners. Questioned by Claribel, it names itself
Isarael, the second-created of the Cherubim, admitting to slaying Baphomet
from within, boasts that it will ascend to Heaven once more.
- 28-December-1999
- 'Project Uplift', sponsored by the ISL, gathers volunteers to improve
the slums of the Southeast sector.
- 29-December-1999
- After a rain of dark, vaporous 'debris' which leaves smoking craters
on the plains, vicious twisters go on a rampage.
At the Abbey, the Folksinger says that he caught the Reaper (the defiler
of the chapel), but she escaped through the sorceries of a satanic priest.
- 30-December-1999
- The squads of the 83rd Legion patrolling the city leave.
