ArmageddonMUSH timeline: 1995-1998

Note: the information on this page is an OOC compilation. For IC records, check with the other players. Some characters have kept diaries. Some organizations also have records, for example the Abbey Chronicles. Some of the events listed here may be well known in the IC world. Please use some common sense in determining if your character should know about something. Check with the player in question if you are uncertain. (Assuming they are still around.) Entries have been edited by Taisch. All dates are RL, not MUSH time.

January-1996: Mephistopheles and Underground leader Adrian engage in a battle of wills over the soul of an angel. Mephistopheles wins the angel over and kills her. Mephistopheles begins active recruitment for the Garote Faction, becoming a shadow Lord of the City due to an ineffective Citadel.
20-October-1996: Black entropic cloud rises out through a rift between Earth and Hell, hovers over the city, striking randomly with black bolts of lightning. Eventually reaches Wormwood Abbey, overpowers Abbey Guardian and Hashmallim Brude the Blessed. With Brude's essence sent to Hell, the Cloud enters and possesses his body.
27-October-1996: The decayed and possessed body of Brude terrorizes the City. Blessed and Fae find a mystical chalice which they hope will banish this threat.
10-November-1996: The Black Cloud abandons the battered husk of Brude, continues to terrorize the City in bodiless form. In Market Square, Abbess Io captures the Cloud in the chalice, then sacrifices herself by drinking it and purifying it within herself, before a crowd of awed spectators. They see Io as their Saviour. The Cult of Io is born, with Brandis/Anathema as her First Disciple.
20-December-1996: Bank of Babylon opens its gates. Original patron unknown, but eventually comes under the control of its manager, Lysidious, betrayed ex-servant of Sirrius. Later, under the reign of Citadel Lord Sethnahkt, the Bank extends its power to own most of the city by purchasing businesses, properties, the Colosseum, and the hydroelectric dams that supply the City's electricity.
13-March-1997: The Jester, Anathema, returns to the city.
2-April-1997: The Light and Dark Realms of the Fae are on their last legs. The Forest, the Colosseum, the Valley, and the Tunnels crumble away.
4-May-1997: Weird demon spiders (who turn out not to be demons) begin appearing in the wastelands outside the city.
3-August-1997: A contingent of Blessed, including the Stone Beast Mendelak and two others attack the Citadel gates, but are repelled. In the Joint Erosion, a shot is heard, then suddenly all life dies inside the bar for some fifteen minutes, after which everything returns to normal. An unidentified black figure is seen exiting the bar. A young male identified as Tanari is killed after a confrontation with Citadel Chief of Security Zamiel.
5-August-1997: Midnight battle in Market Square between Draken Slythe and a Samurai. Draken Slythe defeated, explodes, then sent to hell.
9-August-1997: Myche's Tattoo Parlor opens.
14-August-1997: A female demon claiming to be the daughter of the Horseman of Pestilence fights what appears to be the Grim Reaper. After he decapitates her, he is heard to say something about the Fae and how one should never attack them again.
15-August-1997: Demon's Doctor at Almsdall Plaza hires new doctor.
21-August-1997: Citadel forces, led by Starsmore, confront group of Blessed (Io, Asha'man, Dyno) at the seashore. Rayek-Fahr kills Io. The Blessed emerge victorious, Starsmore killed.
22-August-1997: Myche and Kristin married in St. Andrew chapel in the abbey. Abbess Io conducts the ceremony. Others present include Zeke, Talisein, Dyno, and Juliana. Later, Ezekiel appears in a ball of fire in market square, but vanishes as quickly. Someone's summoning went awry.
23-August-1997: King Vier'nahkt traps and burns the angel Asha'man, then falls to warrior Ututsu. Ututsu challenged in turn by Sirrius, but no damage is scored.
24-August-1997: Khelkhet addresses the public, suggests unity between all. Later announcement: a marriage between Lysidious of the Bank and Khelkhet of KHEL studios, to take place on September 1. Rumors arise of a fae moot.
25-August-1997: Starsmore and a troop of Citadel guards visits KHEL studios, ostensibly to offer congratulations on the engagement between Khelkhet and Lysidious.
28-August-1997: King Vier'nakht announces re-opening of the Colosseum.
30-August-1997: Black Knight returns to Hell.
3-September-1997: Ancanus opens the Church of Satan in the wastelands northeast of the city.
27-May-1998: Explosion, near the Gallowglass Arms in the Unchosen quarter.
1-June-1998: Shootout and riot in Market Square, culminating in a mutilated City Guard nailed to a wooden X by silver nails (shaped to form human skulls), 777 carved in his forehead, 7 on his chest, eyes replaced by rubies.
2-June-1998: Visions of TigerEye spread through the city's dreams.
18-June-1998: Darkness sweeps over the west wall of the City, leaving behind a young girl crucified, again with skull-head silver nails, 777 carved on her throat, mutilated, 7 on her chest.
18-June-1998: Mutilated body of Xern (sans head) found at the Babbling Rat. Note inside body reads: This is the first, but not the last, Rats.
30-June-1998: Statue of Lucifer called down into Market Square by apparent herald of Lucifer. Conversation and fight ensue, herald turns to light.
1-July-1998: Construction seen out in the wastelands to the west.
7-July-1998: Construction seen by Wormwood Abbey.
8-July-1998: Mass Fae exodus from the city.
17-July-1998: Humans emerge from their warrens and riot against the Citadel, barricades set up and troops mobilized in response.
18-July-1998: Belial, a Baron of Hell, appears on earth with a mighty skeletal beast, speaks with the Citadel Lord: Starsmore is to be cast out, exiled, and tried.
20-July-1998: The giant Og appears, herald to the Nameless. Skull throne re-established, offered to Lysidious, who is proclaimed Lord of Hell.
20-26-July-1998: Riots in the city continue. More deaths, snipers, skirmishes, assassinations.
24-July-1998: Citadel Lord Starsmore's trial. Prosecution led by Belial. Starsmore found guilty, stripped of power. Civil war erupts amongst the damned. Citadel appears to "die." Sethnakht and his 83rd Legion surround it. Mysterious luminous woman bearing a 7-pointed star appears, aids Unchosen and Damned, teleporting them to safety.
26-July-1998: Citadel reawakens under a new lord known as 'The Other'. Hundreds of Civil War wounded (humans) crucified along the road out of the city. "Salus Victus Nullam Sperare Salutem." Slavery re-instituted.
8-August-1998: Fehu instated as Citadel Lord, raises humanskin flags branded with the logo of a castle on a skull, encircled by a vine of thorns.
25-August-1998: Hanged child inspires party of Blessed, led by Talisein, to pray before the Citadel. Uriel leads a contingent of angels. After a battle, the Citadel is in flames.
19-October-1998: Wolf girl runs through city, lays a rose on the steps of the Tower of Sorcery, departs back into the plains.
22-October-1998: New Hope manor in the plains collapses, leaving haunted ruins.
23-October-1998: New cult offers hope, prophet in red cape (Lemmie), goddess who listens.
29-October-1998: Announcement from Hell: Captain Asmodeus now rules the Wastelands, Baron Belial now Judge of Hell, Fehu recognized as Lady in the Hierarchy.
6-November-1998: Chilling omen from the Realm of Ice prophesies dark future, conflict spilling to earth. A brawl between quiet supporters of Belial and Starsmore turns bloody in a bar in the Tunnels of Pandemonium. 51 bodies found hanged in the Withered Gardens, most related to the brawl. Among them is Larcian the Cruel, a stern supporter of the Hierarchy. 12 assassination attempts sweep Hell. Asmodeus is known to survive and capture his would-be assassin.
13-November-1998: A torturer preys on the slum population in the Southeast Quarter.
30-November-1998: Sammael appears in a tornado, demands his daughter and wife. Displays overwhelming power against the Citadel squads. Earthquakes and riots disrupt the city. Infernal Solidarity League makes appearance, led by Mehitabel Reynolds. Refugees head for the hills.
10-December-1998: Venus interviews Sammael, the Poison Angel. He gives the Earth 7 days to find Lilith, threatens plagues, destruction.
16-December-1998: Lodo the Torturer, said to be working for Sethnakht, is defeated in a fight and returned to hell.
28-December-1998: Dr. Laura Kay Jeffries replaces Arashi as Abbess at Wormwood Abbey.
